Hormone Therapy Is Not Recommended for Prevention of Dementia or MCI in Postmenopausal Women
Sally A. Shumaker, PhD, and coauthors have determined that estrogen therapy alone does not reduce dementia or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) incidence, as it increased the risk for both end points combined. In fact, increased risk for both end points was observed when data were pooled for estrogen alone and estrogen plus progestin.
